Danger Lyrics

If I go to the dark, You illuminate
All the shadows that aren't there
Running away is just a poor metaphor
Because I'm never quite as far as I think

Danger, the way that she moves in your brain
Without a face
Patient You wait, even though I was wrong
It's not the same

Looking weak never had more appeal
Bend the knee, stop this heart for a while
Counting on the grace You give

Just when I think that I'm alone I think about You more
And the words You said are always ringing in my ears

Song Description:
"Danger is a song about the crooked and depraved mind of man. Every man, in one way or another, objectifies and lusts after women. This subject makes people uncomfortable - it makes me uncomfortable to write a song about it. But if Jesus talked about lusting after a woman as being the same thing as committing adultery with her, then God must view lust as a powerful and evil sin. Dusted throughout the song is the overarching theme that not only is lust wrong, but any sinful "running away" from God is a mere farce. If God is all-encompassing, all-knowing, and all-powerful, then He sees all we do, including our deepest intent and motive. As psalm 139 says, "where can I go to escape from God?" That is what Jesus was trying to say about committing adultery with a woman - God cares not only about our keeping the law, He cares about the motivation for doing it, and the attitude we have while we do so. We tend to act differently when we realize that God is not only right next to us, but He is also listening to our inner dialogue and examining our motives." - Justin Anderson (Mainstay)
