On a trip to NY with the band I began to notice the homeless in the subways and alleys and it struck me as an odd situation. Here they were completely without hope and I was too afraid to even look at them for fear that they might realize that I noticed them and kept walking. It really made me feel lonely and sad for their situation, but more for the situation in my heart. Now that I look back at it I think maybe God wanted me there to lift them up, and all the time I was asking Him to get me out of there. I pray now that I won't live that situation the same way again, but that I will attempt at least to let them know that they are loved. Who knows what a single kind word could do?
