The Dark Side Of Indoor Track Meets Lyrics

Such florescent, you must wonder how I sleep
Shaking spells end, as the cuts lined up my knees
I guess I'm weightless, as I tape my eyelids up
But now I wonder that I may have ran too far
Watch me float by, a bending, arched and sweeping sight
Now play it backwards and I swear you will see me misty eyed
Far
If there's complications, pull the plug out! Pull the plug out!
Far

Song Description:
"Cordelle Truet was a track star in 2001, he raced the indoor invitational 3000 meters. One particular indoor race during a cold day in february, Cordelle woke up from a pre race nap under the fluorescent lighting of the stadium, jogged a few warm up laps to exercise his knee that was fresh out of surgery, and approached the starting line with his fellow competitors. The gun went off. The first few laps were set at a normal pace for the group of racers, Cordelle running within his estimated split. But suddenly Cordelle found himself speeding up, and he began to distance himself drastically ahead of the pack. The crowd began to rise to there feet in encouragement to the runner pulling away in attempt to win. But Cordelle began to run faster and faster. The crowd slowly began to hush in silent shock as Cordelle crossed the finish line. He had ran a time that was impossible for anyone to run ever. Cordelle began to think he may have made a mistake in running that fast." - Falling Up
