Night Life Lyrics (Willie Nelson)
When the evenin' sun goes down You gotta find me, hangin' 'round The night life ain't no good life But it's my life
Many people just like me Dreamin' of old used-to-be The night life ain't no good life But it's my life
Listen to the blues that they're playin' And listen what the blues are sayin' Life is just another scene From the world of broken dreams The night life ain't no good life But it's my life
-Solo-
Listen to the blues that they're playin' And listen what the blues are sayin' Life is just another scene From the world of broken dreams The night life ain't no good life But it's my life
-Solo-
Spoken:
Thank you - thank you - thank you - I wrote a song, called "Drive On" - thank you - June and I read all these novel, these books about Vietnam, you know. I mean practically, I guess everything that came out ever for a period about six or seven years. She and I, swappin' these books, readin' one after another and the language that the troops used in there was - , ah, now you like for instance, there was a group of guys goin' along and one of them would fall, and no time to stop and grief or one might get shot. There was a saying "drive on - it don't mean nothing" - won't mean anything, you know. They would say, drive on - it don't mean nothing. Got to lose his leg - drive on, it don't mean nothing. But anyways, I wrote this song, called "Drive On".
