Waking me from my sleep Bringing me to my knees I know it sounds crazy I know it sounds crazy Reaching into my soul Burning me like coals I know it's amazing Yeah, it's so amazing
I know I'm not the man I used to be But it's still a mystery How something I can't see is changing me
Leading me through the night Filling the sky with light I'm so undeserving Oh, I'm unworthy
I know I'm not the man I used to be But it's still a mystery How something I can't see is changing me
It's changing me It's changing me
Taking away my sin Time and time again It's hard to believe it But I believe it
I know I'm not the man I used to be And it's still a mystery How something I can't see is changing me
Waking me from my sleep Bringing me to my knees I know it sounds crazy
Story Behind The Song: 2 Corinthians 4:16 Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Titus 3:5 ...he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit...
I feel unworthy a lot of the time. I don't deserve my wife, my friends, my health, my career...and mostly the love and faithfulness of a God that I am so often unfaithful to. But the amazing thing is this - He doesn't just love me...His love changes me.
I don't necessarily look or feel any different, but there is an indisputable force at work inside of me - softening my heart and transforming my mind. Sometimes songs take weeks, even months.
This one honestly just kind of "happened" and I hardly even remember the process. I'll never forget hearing the final mix of this song for the first time - I was floored.
