Dizmas Biography Dizmas is a ministry that exists for one purpose, and that is to glorify our lord Jesus Christ. The vehicle for that is Music, and our hearts are to use that music to effect people for our lord. Dizmas is the name given by most historians and theologians to the 'good thief' that chose Christ on the cross. We do not exist to represent that man, but to represent the decision he made that day, choosing eternal life over eternal separation from God. Whether it be a church, park, bar, or club, Dizmas' soul purpose is to glorify our saviour and to affect lives so that they might come to know him.
Emerging from the deserts of Southern California, Dizmas has evolved their own unique style of music, blending modern rock with screaming melodies, catchy hooks and the passion of honest Rock and Roll. Delivering high-energy, engaging rock with a no holds barred spiritual message, Dizmas distinguishes themselves and their music from their peers. Drawing from influences like the Foo Fighters, Blindside, Juliana Theory, The Who, Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin, and others, Dizmas appeals to a massive audience listening to Rock, Punk, Metal, Hardcore and more.
One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us."
But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

Many theologians and historians believe that the name of the second criminal (or the "good thief") mentioned in this brief passage was named Dizmas. Yet, it is a name that is never attributed to the so called "good thief" in any portion of the Bible. Due to the facts, that we believe, the Bible is inspired by God and that the name (Dizmas) is never mentioned in the Bible, we are not completely sure if it was the criminal's name. In conclusion, our band is not necessarily trying to represent a name or even the man that hung next to Jesus. It is our goal, in naming ourselves Dizmas, to represent the decision that was made by the "good thief" that day. A decision, that we believe, is the most important pronouncement anyone could make in their life time, the decision to believe in and follow Christ.
