Feels Like Winter Lyrics
Jason Germain / Marc Martel
I can't say what brought me down this far It's complicated Face down and bleeding from this war Could you forget about figuring me out And be glad I made it From face down and bleeding from this war From this war, from this war
Chorus And it feels like winter On a perfect summer day If I convinced my heart to believe my mind
Heb. 6:17-20 I got the idea for this from a friend I went to Bible College with. She'd been battling depression and even attempted suicide at one point, but awhile after she emailed me and said she was in the process of working through her problems. Even though she's trying to come to grips with everything, those feelings aren't something she'll just 'get over.' One line in her email that really stuck out was "Even though I have all this head-knowledge about God, I still have trouble connecting head to heart." I translated that line for the song into 'If I convince my heart to believe my mind, this might just go away.' The words have a broader scope than just her situation; it's the hope in Christ and the fact He never changes. (Marc Martel)
