Home Lyrics
Jason Germain / Jason Ingram
We want to focus on what we can't see But this scene is just a fading beauty In this life, when sorrow steals our joy We want to walk beyond our circumstances But our feet run to our own advances Would you be our way and lead your people on
Oh, Remind us that we have not reached home Remind us that we have not reached home
Pull apart our good intentions Break the walls of these dimensions
Late in the recording process, Marc wrote a song called "What It's Like" which ended up being our first single. At the same time, Jason had been working on a theme for the Chorus of "Not Reached Home" that the band really liked. But we were stumped as to what to do with the verses. So Jason got together with Jason Ingram (a friend we got to know on the SonicFlood tour) to work on the verses, while Marc worked on the bridge of the song. We feel that "Not Reached Home" is a fitting final piece of the album's puzzle. It communicates an important theme in our music -- a sort of benediction that in all ways, we would be motivated by our final destination
