Demon Hunter Album: Storm The Gates Of Hell Track: Fiction Kingdom
Fiction Kingdom Lyrics
Dig yourself a shallow grave Your life is not the legacy of honor you would dig six feet for Broken is the way you came And broken is the way that you will leave when everything is paid for Make another hollow claim A fable of regurgitated nothing we could tear wide open False in every possible way Your God is still the powerless creation you will lose your hope in
Now you bleed for the Lord of hate that you stole from the pages of truth And separate the product from its own account, to birth a gospel of inferior view
Black reign is all in dream Your truth is absolution's end
Chorus: Dead is the way you stake your life on The oblivious belief What a waste to sell your spirit for
Lay upon the bed you made Your word is not the legacy of truth that you would bet your life on Stand to face a mirrored blade And tremble in the wake of your conviction as you put your life on
Now you bleed for the Lord of hate that you stole from the pages of truth And separate the product from its own account, to birth a gospel of inferior view
Black reign is all in dream Your truth is absolution's end
(Chorus)
This war is a page unwritten, but we know how it ends Take a step to the throne, convicted Choking back your amends
Cry the death of fiction kingdom Your truth is absolution's end
(Chorus)
Song Description: 'Fiction kingdom deals with the extremist subculture of black metal. Black metal is heavy metal at it's darkest and most unabashedly Satanic. Birthed primarily in Norway, its popularity has grown more and more in recent years with the release of documentary films and publications, informing the masses of black metal's scandalous roots and rituals. Black metal's history is riddled with true stories of church burnings and murder, (of both fellow black metal band members and outsiders alike) just to name a few. This is a very real scene with very serious followers. To be honest, I would never discuss the meaning of this song in a public arena and I would hope that this explanation of the song would remain a private matter. With the growing popularity of Demon Hunter, speaking out about the ridiculousness of black metal could very well be a death wish on my part, and I intend to be discreet about the meaning of this song. In other words, please be careful about who sees this song explanation. I don't mean to inflate my own popularity or influence in the world of heavy metal, but people have certainly been killed for less by these monsters. Here is the problem for me: Satan, as we know him, although seen in everyday life, has been described and identified to us via the Bible. The Bible is our encyclopedia (of sorts) for the spiritual world, both good and evil. The Devil is, by definition, a deceiver. If Satan's plan is to deceive and destroy (motives not argued by Satanists), what part of that plan excludes his followers? You cannot accept the Devil of the Bible, and then change his Biblical definition. You cannot take out fragments of the Bible and shape them to your liking. The same Bible that speaks of Satan, speaks of his ultimate defeat. It speaks of Hell in its true nature. Hell is not a place that you can mold into an eternal sin-party. It's not a pleasant place for anyone, friend of Satan or not. Whether or not these followers accept the fact that they have just fell hook, line and sinker for Satan's lies does not change the objectivity of that fact. No one likes being lied to. That disappointment and frustration is not exclusively Christian. It's inherently human. So, why live your life for a lie? Why spend your days living so completely ignorant?' - Demon Hunter
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. -John 8: 44
