Praise Is Rising-Hosanna Lyrics

Praise is rising, eyes are turning to you
We turn to you
Hope is stirring, hearts are yearning for you
We long for you
When we see you we find strength to face the day
In your presence all our fears are washed away, washed away
Hosanna, hosanna
You are the God who saves us, worthy of all our praises
Hosanna, hosanna
Come have your way among us
We welcome you here Lord Jesus
Hear the sound of hearts returning to you
We turn to you
In your kingdom broken lives are made new
You make all things new

Brenton Brown/Paul Baloche

Song Description:
'Written after dinner at Paul and Rita's in Texas. We were literally just noodling around with a very Beatle-esque idea when the words started coming. Paul and I loved the idea of singing about Matthew 21 - one of the few scenes of worship depicted in the New Testament outside of the book of Revelations. So what was in our heads at the time was Jesus' approach to Jerusalem and the worship that rose up spontaneously for the hope of the nations, the coming King. 'Hosanna' is one of my favourite worship words. It started out meaning 'Save us God' and then later came to mean 'Praise you God' - a tidy depiction of our relationship with our Father. We wanted to capture the excitement we feel when God's King and his Kingdom draw near - the God who sets things right, who heals and redeems us and makes us new. This is what happens in worship. We draw near to God and He draws near to us, bringing his salvation with him. Pretty exciting really.' - Brenton Brown
