Surrender Lyrics I'm in a constant freefall When I'm following You Can't see the next step's footing But I know that You do And life is all just a bunch of work Nothing more than a climbing fall
Till I surrender, surrender, surrender All these things to You All my life to You, to You
I was a meteor burning With a need for Your rescue And it's the safest kind of falling Now that I'm falling into You And it's true I still don't have control 'Cause You've got it all along
So I surrender, surrender, surrender All these things to You All my life to You All my dreams to You I keep falling in surrender
I end where you begin Lose it all to win A constant realign Beneath Your love divine In this fall without a bottom The deeper my surrender The higher we will rise
Surrender All these things to You All my life to You
Surrender, surrender, surrender All these things to You All my life to You All my dreams to You I keep falling in surrender to You
Song Description: "I walk a lot. I try to go for a 4-6 mile walk almost every day. I've heard it said that walking is like a constant free-fall. I like that idea because it makes something I already love even more exhilarating. Ok, maybe "exhilarating" is a strong word for it, but when you walk, your body is in motion. You're always falling forward, and it is only the act of putting one leg in front of the other on a firm surface that is preventing your body from hitting the ground and causing injury. I think that's a good way to talk about surrender-surrender to God. I always hear people saying that surrender is the same as letting go, or giving in, but I think surrender is much more involved than that. It's much more deliberate. Surrendering is putting your life in someone's hands, and trusting them to do with it as they please. In my walk of life, I'm trusting that with each step, God will provide firm ground for me to move on. Now I don't know where my next step will land, but God gave me talents, desires, open and closed doors, to choose a particular direction, and in that direction, the ability to be faithful or unfaithful to Him. The Word of God says a lot about how I should walk, and the consequences of either putting my steps into His hands, or taking them in mine. The walk of surrender to the Almighty, though not remotely devoid of nicks and bruises, is really the safest kind of free-fall." - Marc Martel (downhere)
