Wake up another day, it's funny how you put yourself in cruise Control You say your life is very plain Waiting for a spark to Light the coal inside And that is when you feel alive But that's Just where it starts Are you to comfortable in the dark/
Chorus You threw it all away You had so much to gain You threw it all away Now there's nothing left to claim You threw it all away You had so much to gain You threw it All away Now there's nothing left to claim And now you're Lost inside of you What am I supposed to do Generation Lost All for everything until it comes to the cross A fear of Faith becomes their cage They're getting used to Feeling Weightless Breathing fakeness Dreaming faithless
Chorus
To talk to you Feeling weightless Breathing fakeness Dreaming faithless
Chorus
What am I supposed to do
Explanation: The idea for this song comes from a video that Philip and I watched. The video was produced by a friend of ours by the name of Phil Chalmers. The video was of a question and answer session of what music teenagers like. When they answered, most shared songs and artists who deal with violence, rape, and drugs. The teenagers said that the lyrics in the songs really did not affect them, because all they really cared about was the music. When asked if anything would offend them, they replied "anything about God or faith would be really offensive." When Phil and I heard this, our hearts were broken. How could teenagers today be so closed off from the only thing that will save them? When we wrote this song, we were crying out to our generation, telling them the time to reach out to God is now, because life is short, and who knows what could happen tomorrow.
