Grace and Peace Lyrics

About the song:
The idea for this song came initially out of our love for the church we attend and the feeling of community we have experienced. There are so many different types of people, upbringings, races, etc., and yet it is a family. As we were writing, it began to be more about the church as a whole. That sense of unity is so necessary and often keeps me sane in these turbulent times. In our service the minister uses the greeting from the Bible, "Grace and peace to you through our Lord Jesus Christ". This was the message and the invitation we wanted to extend through the song.

Lyrics:
All the weary, tired souls full of hunger
Needing something that fills
All the thirsty that heard about living water
Need a way to the well
It's a strange crowd
But still somehow
The lost have been found
By the One in whose Name we come

Grace and peace to you through our Lord Jesus
Times like these we need that kind of love
To take these things coming in between us
And wash us clean with the body and the blood

Early that night just before he was taken
He broke of the bread
So we could taste that He has died, He is risen
He is coming again
And it's much more
Than we could ask for
To be made pure
By the One in whose Name we come
