I co-wrote this song with Tony Wood and Jonathan Crumpton, but it's probably one of the fastest songs I've ever written. I wrote the music in about 10 minutes or so. Tony is one of those guys who write lyrics that are so easy to fit to melodies. I think he handed me the lyrics and stepped out to get a cup of coffee. By the time he got back with his coffee I had the music done. The song takes snapshots of those moments when everything is going wrong, or you're having a bad day, but it hits you that even in the midst of it all, God is with you. --Michael
Stuck here on this highway In a river of red lights For at least another mile There's no relief in sight
Felling all alone but Then from the radio comes A singer to remind me Something I already know
In this moment, You are here with me In this moment, You are closer than the air I breathe You're the God who reigns in Heaven And it's amazing indeed That You are here with me In this moment
A few things on my checklist That I need to do downtown So I step on to the sidewalk Full of people all around
Someone said the city Can be a lonely place But even though I know I can't find one familiar face
Anywhere, anytime I'm on my own I'll hold on to the promise that I will never be alone
Even though it's midnight And I'm lying in the dark I think of You up in Heaven Yet You are in my heart
