This song is about staying married. My parents and grandparents are both divorced. Having a son now, I know how important it is for us to stay together. The lyric says: So many people packing it in / They don't give it half a chance / You and me we've got it all / And it's going to last. This is about being in it forever, not letting anything mess it up -- sticking it out through the long haul. People are going to see the personality of God through families, not through our jobs or our businesses. Musically speaking, this song starts with a very simplistic piano and ends with a big sound at the end. It sounds more like a movie score than anything we've ever done. We're really proud of it. --Jeromy
It used to be second nature to me To want to turn and walk away Since I met you those days are gone Now I want to stay, and say
I'm in for the long haul Bring on the fight I will, I will stand tall With all my might And face the wind and face the rain And even the pain Through it all I'm in for the long haul
So many people just packing it in They don't give it half a chance Not me and you, we've got it all And it's gonna last Oh yeah, bring it on 'cause
For the ride of my life With you by my side Holding on tight, because Our guiding light is the Father And we'll be alright
