High Flight Society Biography HighFlightSociety is a rock band in the truest sense of the term. With powerful vocals, driving, intricately written guitar parts, and dynamic rhythm changes, HFS delivers songs about faith, hope, and everyday life with passion and honesty.
The band was recently awarded a development deal by Provident Music Group, the parent company of labels like Essential and Fervent. The deal came after HFS beat out over 6,000 other bands in the nation-wide Christian Music Talent Search (CMTS). While the HighFlightSociety sound falls somewhere between bands like the Ataris and Thrice, HFS has a distinct sound all their own - one that is setting them apart in the overcrowded Atlanta music scene. In January 2002, HighFlightSociety played their first show - the beginning of a journey that has only gained momentum since then.
A few months after forming, ex Audio Adrenaline guitarist Barry Blair sought HFS out to record a three-song demo. Even more recently, the band recorded with producer and ex DC Talk bass player and Sonic Flood co-founder Otto Price. The opportunity arose after winning the second round of CMTS at Atlantafest 2003, the biggest Christian music festival in the southeast.
Since releasing two independent EP's, self producing a music video and playing countless shows with bands such as the Elms, Seven Places and Holland, HighFlightSociety has gained a loyal, constantly growing fan base thanks to their energetic, ever-evolving live show. What keeps the fans coming back, however, are the songs. Unlike the tired, predictable songs of many of today's bands, HFS songs contain stand-out melodies that stick in your head and messages that stay in your heart, HighFlightSociety's powerful rock sound will take them anywhere God leads. The sky is the limit.
