Jadon Lavik Biography "Contemporary culture lacks both the inward reality and the outward life-style of simplicity. We must live in the modern world, and we are affected by its fractured and fragmented state-Courageously, we need to articulate new, more human ways to live-Simplicity is not a lost dream, but a recurrent vision throughout history. It can be recaptured today.- Richard J. Foster
Truly this dream of returning to simplicity has been realized in the musical reflections of Jadon Lavik. His debut album "Moving On Faith" combines thought provoking lyrics, prolific acoustic stylings, and engaging melodies to create an inspiring journey back to the roots of life, love, and faith.
Jadon's own journey began in Redmond , WA where he was born and raised in a Christian home with his parents (Phil and Christine) and two siblings (Justin and Anna). An athlete his entire life, Jadon pursued a baseball career at Westmont College in Santa Barbara where he studied business finance. But it was there that God began moving him towards music. As he learned guitar and began singing at a local church he fell in love with the power music had to influence, encourage, and inspire people's lives. Inspired further by the beautiful surf and sun of Southern California , Jadon moved to Orange County after graduating. In the midst of interviewing for a job in commercial real estate, Jadon encountered an opportunity to pursue music more seriously during a chance conversation with Rick Muchow, worship leader at Saddleback Church . "That was confirmation enough for me to take the leap of faith and follow God's leading." Abandoning all business pursuits, Jadon began a two-year music internship at Saddleback where he fine-tuned his guitar skills and began discovering his own style in songwriting.
Many of the experiences Jadon had during those two years provided the inspiration for "Moving On Faith". Traveling to third world countries like Thailand , Ukraine , and Ecuador opened his eyes to the suffering of the world and the many blessings he had in his own life. "I get inspired to write about the things God is teaching me day by day. It's about not being attached or consumed by the things of this world, it's about filtering life through heavenly lenses, and seeing the world the way God sees it-broken, unfinished, unfulfilling, hurting, needing, and yet purposeful- hopeful. It's about my struggles, my failures, my hope, my faith, my honesty. I hope to always write songs that are authentic and genuine reflections of my evolving relationship with Christ."
And so he has. With cuts like "Today" and "Searching", Jadon sheds a refreshing light on the brevity of life, the importance of selflessness, and the value of simplicity. A unique combination of acoustic ambience and dynamic delivery "Moving On Faith" I'm a normal guy. I love to have fun; laugh, surf, watch movies, all that, but I also have a serious side. God's given me a heart for people and a desire to make my life count. I hope that my music would cause people to lead lives of worship- not for anything that I've said or done, but by being reminded of the things that God has said and done."
